Bayern Munich are poised to win their third consecutive Bundesliga title next season, given how the summer transfer window in Germany has turned out so far. The German top-flight is a classic case of the rich getting richer, with Die Bayern as the main beneficiary.
Vincent Kompany’s side won the league with a comfortable 16-point cushion over second-placed Borussia Dortmund last term, and the pre-season Bundesliga 2026 odds have them winning the Meisterschale again, barring any unforeseen circumstances.
While Bayern Munich are loading up, the same can’t be said for Borussia Dortmund, who just lost three of their most productive players from last campaign. On the other hand, several Bundesliga youngsters have increased their stock, so much so that they’ve garnered numerous suitors from rival clubs.
There’s not much going on in Germany so far (compared to the Premier League). Nonetheless, SBOTOP has you covered with the latest Bundesliga 2026 updates.
Bayern Munich add two World Cup standouts
Bayern Munich won the Meisterschale for boasting the league’s most potent offence. Last term, they scored a whopping 122 league goals while conceding 36 for a superb +86 goal difference, thanks to the powerful attacking triumvirate of Harry Kane, Luis Diaz, and Michael Olise, who has also done bits in this year’s World Cup.
Die Bayern are keen to refresh their side this summer, and they started by releasing Leon Goretzka and Raphael Guerreiro, both of whom are approaching the wrong side of their 30s. Despite their age, make no mistake, they’re still productive players who can help several teams. Because they’re free agents, Goretzka and Guerreiro can join their next clubs on a free transfer.
Vincent Kompany’s side must be watching the World Cup, as they’ve acquired Nathaniel Brown and Ismael Saibari in return.
Before suiting up for Germany, Brown spent the 2025-26 season with Eintracht Frankfurt, producing four league goals and four assists at full-back, so he’s the ideal replacement for Guerreiro.
Meanwhile, Saibari was voted player of the season in the Dutch Eredivisie after scoring 15 league goals en route to winning the league championship for PSV Eindhoven. He finished as Morocco’s leading scorer in the quadrennial tournament with three goals, making him the perfect understudy for Harry Kane, who will turn 33 later this July.
Borussia Dortmund lose key attacker to Barcelona
Don’t be surprised if Borussia Dortmund drop down from second place next season, as they’ve already lost three of their most impactful players from last term. Centre-back Niklas Süle announced his retirement a few months ago, and Julian Brandt just became a free agent after not renewing with BVB and has been linked to a sensational move to Leeds United.
And just yesterday, The Yellow Wall sold Karim Adeyemi to Barcelona for roughly €29 million. Adeyemi and Brandt each had seven league goals and four assists, so the Yellow Wall must find a way to replicate their production.

According to reports, BVB have considered pursuing Said El Mala, as his mother prefers his son to stay home in Germany. The 19-year-old winger was Koln’s top scorer and playmaker with 13 league goals and four assists, helping the Billy Goats avoid the drop zone. Koln finished 14th in the German top-flight standings with 32 points.
Another Borussia Dortmund player who could leave the club is Julian Ryerson. The 28-year-old wing-back currently represents Norway in the ongoing World Cup and has been linked to Manchester United, Barcelona, AC Milan, and Inter Milan. Per local reports, BVB’s asking price for Ryerson is at least around €30-35 million, although he remains under contract with them until the summer of 2028.
These youngsters could be up for sale
Several youngsters have made a name for themselves in the Bundesliga this past season, and as a result, they’ve gained suitors in the transfer market this summer.
Perhaps the most recognisable name is Yan Diomande, as the 19-year-old winger notched 12 league goals and eight assists to guide RB Leipzig to a third-place finish. He also played well for Ivory Coast during their World Cup campaign, and has been primarily linked to Liverpool and PSG.
Johan Manzambi is also another name to monitor. The 20-year-old midfielder scored five league goals and four assists to help SC Freiburg finish seventh and reach the Europa League finals, drawing interest from Newcastle United.
Angelo Stiller is one of the top commodities in the midfield market. The 25-year-old was the fulcrum for VfB Stuttgart, contributing two league goals and five assists. The German international has been linked to Newcastle United and Manchester United.
